Hello,
my name is Laela (Lady Tru) Trudeau. I am a happily married stay at home mother of five. I love beach day, park day, baking, quilting, sewing, making salsa, exchanging recipes, mom’s night out and an occasional nap. I have been attending Jamul Community Church all of my adult life and I am very involved. I enjoy helping with VBS, the Christmas program, the womans retreat, sleep overs for the church youth, AWANA, etc. My husband is an Insurance Agent by day & a music industry type at night & on weekends. Having a household of seven wasn’t hectic enough for my husband and I (mostly just I:) so after our oldest child completed fifth grade we began homeschooling. That helped a little but it still wasn’t quite busy enough. Instead of waiting for our second child to finish fifth grade we began homeschooling her right after she finished fourth grade. When our third child was in Kindergarten my husband made it very clear that he’d like our third child to finish fourth or fifth grade before he joins the two oldest at home. I understood why my husband wanted the third child to remain in public school as long as the first two children but I was itching to find something to make life just a little bit more complicated. I thought about going back to work full time but realized that homeschooling the girls at night might be difficult because that is when they normally sleep. An evening job was enticing but I realized that it would probably consistently conflict with healthy home cooked dinners and quality time with the esposo. What to do…what to do? I’d always enjoyed hosting Partylite, Pampered Chef, The Body Shop, Tupperware, etc. etc. etc. parties. I’d thought about signing up and selling products myself but I never quite felt like I’d found “it.” One magical Saturday my older sister & I attended a class about make up & skincare. The teacher of the class was amazing and I fell in love with the products she used when teaching the class. Initially I thought I’d found something that was going to require me to make some adjustments to our household budget in order to make room for all of the new skincare products I was planning on purchasing. I was wrong! Instead I became a BeautiControl consultant and I constantly treat my husband to delicious dining experiences…you know because of all of the extra money.
